Victoria is the Executive Director of Banking, Payments, and Innovation for the Bank of England. Victoria’s responsibilities include operating and strategically developing the Bank’s payment system services, which settles approximately £685 billion sterling payments and securities transactions daily. She also oversees the bank’s wholesale and retail banking operations, providing emergency liquidity assistance and payment system services. Additionally, Victoria is the Chair of the bank’s Financial Technology Hub and the CPMI Task Force on Cross-Border Payments.
At the Bank of England, Victoria has worked in a variety of senior roles across a wide variety of departments. In her most recent role as Chief Cashier, she oversaw our work on digital currencies and was responsible for banknotes (from design through distribution). She also supervised payment and settlement systems for her last jobs. Victoria is a member of the Board of Directors for the Business Disability Forum and serves as the executive sponsor of our staff disability Network and the Bicycle Users Group.
