Dr. Irena Dajkovic is the Founding and Managing Partner of DALIR Law Firm. She is an attorney with over twenty years of expertise in commercial, corporate, and regulatory law, gained both in private practice and in-house. Her customers have included banks, private equity firms, retailers, and even private people. Irena is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their objectives and has received high marks for her technical expertise, sound counsel, and impeccable integrity.
Irena has assisted several businesses in growing internationally and improving their internal processes. Dr. Dajkovic has been counseling customers in the financial technology industry, such as established PSPs and online marketplaces, on the implications of the new E.U. Payment Services Directive 2 and the national laws that are enforcing it (e.g., standard terms & conditions, operations, existing processes, licensing requirements, etc.).
Before establishing DALIR, Dr. Dajkovic served as General Counsel and Head of Compliance at Checkout.com, a worldwide merchant acquirer and prominent member of the largest card schemes such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and JCB. She aided in the procurement and upkeep of card schemes and regulatory licenses, negotiated significant partnerships with foreign merchants and banks, and assembled a formidable legal team. In addition to her duties as the PSD person and primary legal contact for all regulatory engagements (including those with the FCA, the National Crime Agency, the Information Commissioner’s Office, and so on), she also served as a key decision-maker for the FCA.
