Christine Tan oversees wholesale payments as Managing Director and Head of the Asia PACIC–Financial Institutions Group for J.P. Morgan Chase. She manages the area’s bank, broker-dealer, and non-bank financial institution (FI) portfolios. Her duties include offering strategic guidance and seizing opportunities to expand the FIG franchise with current and prospective customers. 

Before being promoted to her current role, Christine served as the Head of Treasury Services for ASEAN. In that capacity, she was accountable for implementing the end-to-end Treasury Services model in each market throughout Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, ensuring resiliency and robustness in the product offering, service model, and control environment. She also served as the Chief of Multinational Corporations (MNCs) for Asia PACIC for five years, and she has a lot of expertise working with MNCs in the area across various markets. 

Christine’s professional background includes stints at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi before her employment at J.P. Morgan. Christine has over ten years of expertise in banking and trust, namely in treasury, corporate finance, and trust and estate planning. Earlier in her career, she had positions in treasury trading operations and mortgage-backed securitization of corporate financing in a variety of financial institutions, the majority of which were multinational banks. Christine’s previous employer was a well-known private bank-owned Trust Company before she started working for Vistra. There, she managed an extensive portfolio of high and ultra-high-net-worth private clients spanning multiple Southeast Asian jurisdictions (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia) and North Asia. Before joining Vistra, Christine was based in Singapore (Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan). During her work, she has advised clients to establish private onshore and offshore fiduciary arrangements, coordinate cross-border tax, and set up suitable asset protection and succession planning structures for trans-generational high-net-worth clients. She has previous expertise in reorganizing trusts, administering trusts, preparing estates and successions, and planning successions. Christine has an established network and referral connections with professional intermediates throughout North Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. These professional intermediaries include private banks, legal companies, CPA firms, asset/fund managers, and high-net-worth customers. Christine is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has an Honors Degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore. She also received her degree with a Second Upper Honors designation.
